Isokern Garden Fireplace Build (Animated Video)

This video Explained

How this Video Comes Together – Step by Step
The animation breaks it down beautifully, starting with the core components and building up layer by layer. Here's the sequence, mirroring what the model shows:

1. Laying the Pumice Base and Logstore
It all begins with the solid pumice base – a pre-formed, lightweight slab that's bedded onto a level foundation like a concrete pad or compacted hardcore. The animation rotates around this step, emphasising how the pumice provides instant stability and insulation right from the ground up. Getting it perfectly level and square is key, as shown in the model's precise alignment demo. Then using Lip Glue the Logstore element is constructed.

2. Assembling the Chamber
Next, the pumice blocks stack up to form the chamber tapered walls, with the animation highlighting the interlocking tongue-and-groove design for a seamless fit. The chamber grate slots in effortlessly - It's all bonded with Isokern Lip Glue, and the model zooms in to show the construction taking shape, ready for the gather blocks.

3. Fitting the Gather Blocks and DM Flue blocks
The animation then transitions to the top-down installation of the Isokern DM flue, which is a pumice double-module system. The 3D view makes it crystal clear how the flue integrates without fuss, keeping the profile slim and modern.

4. Fitting the Firebricks
For added durability and heat reflection, the model shows firebricks being custom  fitted around the chamber interior and base. These high-temp bricks line the firebox, protecting the pumice and enhancing combustion. The animation illustrates preferred firebrick installation order– a satisfying detail that underscores the build's professional finish.

5. Rendering for the Final Look
Once the structure is complete, the fun aesthetic stage: rendering over the exposed pumice for a sleek, weatherproof surface. The animation applies a smooth coat, revealing a contemporary vibe, but you could swap in stone cladding or brick slips as alternatives. It ends with the whole unit looking effortlessly integrated into the garden.

6. First Fire
The model wraps up by simulating the first light-up: dry seasoned logs loaded in, a match struck, and flames dancing with excellent draw and impressive heat output. It looks – and feels – like it’s always belonged there.

Isokernshop Super Tip!

- Use a spirit level at every stage - It is vital the base is level in every direction.
